Nayanthara Letter ;
A well-established actor like you, with the support and blessings of your father and brother, an acclaimed director, must read and comprehend this. As we all know, cinema is a struggle for survival for someone like me: a self-made woman with no connections to the industry who had to work hard to get to where I am now. I’d owe this to my work ethic, which is well known to those who know me, but more importantly, to the goodwill of the public and my cinema community.
Not only have I been eagerly anticipating the debut of my Netflix documentary, but so have many of my friends and supporters. It needed a large team of collaborators and film pals to pull the production together despite the challenges that were thrown at us.
The vengeance you have been harbouring against the film, my partner and I, affects not just us but also the people who have contributed their time and effort to this production. Nayanthara Dhanush Fight, This Netflix documentary on my life, love, and marriage includes excerpts from many of my industry well-wishers who have generously contributed, as well as memories from various films, but unfortunately does not include the most unique and significant film, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan.
After two years of battling with you for a NOC (No Objection Certificate) and waiting for your approval for our NetFlix documentary release, we finally decided to give up, re-edit, and settle for the current version because you refused to allow the use of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan songs, visual cuts, and even photographs, despite multiple requests.
The songs of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan are still respected today since the lyrics were written from actual emotions. Knowing that there is no better music that we could use in our documentary, your reluctance to allow us to use it, or even simply phrases from the songs, shattered my heart.
Netflix Documentary :
Nayanthara Dhanush Fight, The author expresses their frustration with the producer’s decision to deny permission for the use of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in a Netflix documentary. They argue that this decision is merely to vent out personal grudge and that the producer has deliberately remained indecisive. The legal notice after the trailer release further highlights the producer’s behavior, as they claim damages of Rs.10 crores for just 3 seconds of videos shot on personal devices and BTS visuals. The author wishes the producer would be more like the person they portray, but they believe they do not practice what they preach.
Copyright :
The author questions whether a producer becomes an Emperor controlling the lives, freedom, and liberty of all individuals on set, and any deviation from this rule attracts legal ramifications. They are in receipt of the legal notice and will respond lawfully. The author also mentions the producer’s refusal to give NOC for the use of elements of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, which may be justified from a copyright angle. However, they remind the producer that there is a moral side to the situation and must be defended in the court of God.
The author believes that prominent persons in public life do not tamper with others’ private lives, and the people of Tamil Nadu or anyone with the right conscience would not appreciate such tyranny, even if it comes from an established personality like the producer.
